If you own or maintain your own blog, you may not be aware of the fact that there could be an iPhone or iPad app out there that could help you improve how you conduct your day-to-day business.

Whether you’re looking around for an app that could help you save time in managing your blog, or even if you’re searching for an app that will help give you inspirational ideas for blog posts, here are 6 apps every blogger should be aware of:

  1. WordPress (Free)
  2. WordPress for iPhone/iPadIf you use WordPress for your blog, then this iPhone app will allow you to disapprove or approve comments on your blog directly from your iPhone or iPad, and will also allow you to add new posts and edit pages with ease.

The app is available to download for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, and is also available for the Android, Blackberry, Nokia, Windows Phone and so much more.

  3. ShoZu ($4.99)

It may be pricey, but well worth it if you’re looking for a time-saving app.

  5. Evernote (Free)

If you’ve ever thought of a good idea for a blog post when you’re on the go or if you’re sick of scratching your post ideas down on a piece of paper, then try out this app to maintain an organized database of all of your notes. This app not only allows you to save all of your notes so you can look them over at a more convenient time, it also allows you to record your notes as a voice memo as well.

  7. PingDom (Free)

  9. Pulse News Reader (Free)

If you’re the type of blogger who gets your inspiration by reading different news stories from different publications, then this app is a must. Pulse helps users access the top news stories from all of their favorite sites and blogs; so instead of going to each site individually each and every day you can access all of your sites at one time.

  11. Jott (Free)
  12. Jott for iPhone/iPad
If you happen to be an unbearably slow typist and/or you’re sick of typing out all of your blog posts, then try this app out for size. Jott is a free voice-to-text transcription service so all you have to do is speak into the recorded interface and then your words will be typed up in your Jott notes automatically for you.

Very helpful post! I find I use my iPad a lot while blogging. Evernote is essential to keep track of ideas I have while on the go. I also use Dropbox (free) to transfer files between my devices.

I didn’t realize PingDom had an app – just downloaded. One of my top five apps: Mercury web browser. It beats Safari hands down.
