Apple Officially Releases iOS 6 – Download Now [Direct Links]

Last week, Apple announced the new iPhone 5 and also seeded iOS 6 GM build to the developers. Now Apple has officially seeded the public version of it’s iOS 6 mobile operating system. iOS 6 comes with over 200 new features. Some of the major features of iOS 6 include:

1. Maps: Apple has included a custom Maps app within iOS 6. This app is in collaboration with TomTom. Maps app on iOS 6 provides flyover features with turn-by-turn navigation by Siri.

2. Facebook integration: Apple iOS 6 comes with deep Facebook integration. You can now post status updates from the Notification center itself. You can also upload photos/videos directly from the Photos app.

3. Passbook: Another great feature of iOS 6 is Passbook. Passbook is like a digital wallet for your passes, tickets, etc. Using Passbook, you can save your boarding passes, movie tickets, and retail coupons on your iOS device.

4. Siri: With iOS 6 update, Siri also comes with improvements. You can make restaurant bookings, get detailed score comparisons, and launch applications using Siri voice commands.

How to Download iOS 6 for your iOS device?

iOS 6 update is officially available from 19th September. To get the update you must install iTunes 10.7. After installing iTunes 10.7, plug in your iOS device and select Check for Updates option from Help menu. iTunes will check for the update, download it and install it on your iOS device.

If you rely on jailbreak or software/hardware unlock including Gevey & ultrasn0w, then you must stay away from the update for time being. Let the iOS hackers update their tools including sn0wbreeze, redsn0w and then you can preserve the baseband and/or jailbreak your iOS device.
