Evasi0n jailbreak for iOS 6.0 and iOS 6.1 has been released by a group of hackers called “evad3rs.” The jailbreak is compatible with all iPhone, iPod touch, iPad and iPad mini models running iOS 6.0 through 6.1. Apple released iOS 6 last year and now 7 months later, iOS hackers have managed to jailbreak it. The jailbreak is also available for iPhone 5, the 4th generation iPad and iPad mini along with older devices.
If you have a tethered jailbroken iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS or iPod Touch 4, then you do not need to reinstall iOS 6 and then jailbreak uisng Evasi0n tool. You can directly use a Cydia package called “evasi0n 6.x Untether” to convert tethered jailbreak to untethered. There are 2 advantages to this method. Firstly you don’t need to backup your data via iTunes and perform a clean restore to iOS 6.1. Secondly, your existing Cydia packages will not be lost. You don’t have to worry about installing your Cydia packages again.
If you’re using iPhone 5, iPad Mini or 4th gen iPad, then check the following tutorial. This tutorial will also work if you’ve an iPhone 4, and other older devices.
How To Convert iOS 6.1 Tethered Jailbreak to Untethered on iPhone 4 & iPod Touch 4?
1. Launch Cydia on your iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, or iPod Touch 4 and let Cydia update the database.
2. Tap Search and enter evasi0n in the search box and select Search.
