Apple recently seeded iOS 5 Beta 7 to Developers. The good news for Jailbreak developers is that iOS 5 Beta 7 is jailbreak friendly. iOS 5 Beta 7 can be jailbroken by using redsn0w 0.9.8b7.
Note: If you’re on jailbroken iOS 5 Beta 6, you cannot update to iOS 5 Beta 7 via OTA.
@iH8sn0w is yet to release the updated version of sn0wbreeze to support iOS 5 Beta 7. With sn0wbreeze, users can update the iOS without updating the baseband.
How To Jailbreak iOS 5 Beta 7?
1. To jailbreak iOS 5 Beta 7, you must point redsn0w to iOS 5 Beta 6 IPSW. Make sure you’ve both iOS 5 Beta 6 & Beta 7 IPSWs. If you’re a developer, you can download the IPSWs from Apple’s Developer Site
2. Download redsn0w 0.9.8b7
3. Run redsn0w and point it to iOS 5 Beta 6 IPSW. Redsn0w will patch iOS 5 Beta 6 kernel. When it’s done, you’ll have to put your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad into DFU mode and redsn0w will do the rest for you.
