Comex, the jailbreak hacker has been working on iPad 2 jailbreak for a long time. He teased with a video back in March. The iPad 2 jailbreak is almost ready and is in the beta testing according to @Comex’s timeline.

JailbreakMe 3.0

Comex has found a PDF exploit in Mobile Safari which leads to an untethered jailbreak for iOS devices upto iOS 4.3.3. The jailbreak was available only to private beta testers. But one of the private beta testers has leaked the PDF exploits that must be used in the jailbreak process.

The current jailbreak process using JailbreakMe 3.0 is quite buggy and requires more time to boot after the jailbreak. The exploits used in this leaked jailbreak are yet to be compressed by Comex. This process will reduce the size of the exploits, and the debug information will not be used. This will speed up the jailbreak process in the final release of JailbreakMe 3.0.

Also, a video is available on YouTube which shows the jailbreak process on iPad 2. But, this video has now been made private and hence hides the URL used for jailbreaking process.

Folks over at iPhoneHowToJailbreak.com have posted links to the PDF exploits used by this new JailbreakMe. You can open the site from your iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch running iOS 4.3.3 and jailbreak using the various exploits present there.

This is a beta jailbreak and hence may not be stable. It’s better you wait till the public release of JailbreakMe 3.0 to jailbreak your iPad 2, which will be released very soon!
