With increased internet users, people are trying to make their presence on this World Wide Web in one or the other way. With blogging creating a platform for millions of writers who want to share their feeling amongst the internet, fraternities and different communities are scribbling something which can be of importance or not. There are some professional bloggers like columnist, social activists, journalists and writers but with increased number of bloggers, even school kids have started their own blogs and with effective methods have turned it in to moneymaking ventures.

Web Hosting Tips for Bloggers

  1. Choosing a permanent domain name
  2. When you start your own blog, make sure that you have the domain for permanent use because shifting or changing the domain in between means you will be compromising and parting with the current readership you have with the old domain. So stick to the domain name no matter what happens.

  3. Evaluate different web hosting companies
  4. As there are many companies, which are providing a specific platform in blogging, you will have to understand your comfort and ease with each of the service provider. You may want to consider the ease of resources provided to you, various aspects of functionality, scope for monetizing and freedom of speech. Although there are certain more aspects, which have to be considered, these are the prime parameters depending on which you will have to choose the blogging host.

  5. Look for the resources you will be getting
  6. When you are choosing a web hosting company for your blog, make sure you think of the ease of the various functions with which they can be used. Simple functions like provision of templates and customization tools should be easy enough to understand and access, as they will be the key points of your blog representation.

  7. Easy conversion and retention of the domain
  8. When you are using the free web hosting services for hosting your own blog then often you will receive the sub domain, which will be associated with the domain name of the web hosting company. Make sure that the web-hosting provider will allow you to retain your own domain after you get the paid services removing the alternate host company domain from your URL. This will help you to accommodate the increasing traffic and readership that is contributing to your blogs.

Choosing a permanent domain name is crucial because that would become your web identity throughout. It must be well thought out and represent who you are and what you do, then stick to it.

Yes, you have to choose wisely. Of course Wordpress is by far the best platform for blogging, but you have to make sure you’ve got a good host for that.

There’s another option and that’s to go with sites like Weebly and Yola. I have sites that include blogs with both and they are reliable and meet all my needs. Yola in particular is good for blogging and is definitely SEO friendly.
